Canonized as a Saint on September 7, 2025

Carlo Acutis (3 May 1991 – 12 October 2006) was a British-born Italian student celebrated for his devotion to the Eucharist and his use of digital media to promote Catholic devotion. Born in London and raised in Milan, he created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions. Diagnosed with leukemia, he died at age fifteen. Beatified by the Catholic Church in 2020, he is regarded as a model for young believers and is scheduled to be canonized as a saint on 7 September 2025. Acutis is often referred to as the “first millennial saint”.[3]

Carlo Acutis dies at age 15 due to fulminant leukemia, leaving in the memory of all those who knew him a great void and a deep admiration for what was his brief, but intense testimony of an authentic Christian life. Since he received his First Communion at 7 years old, he never missed an appointment with daily Mass. He always tired before or after Mass to pray in front of the tabernacle to worship the Lord, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Our Lady was his great confidant and never failed to honor her daily by reciting the Rosary. Carlo’s Modernity combines perfectly with his deep Eucharistic life and Marian devotion, which have helped to make him the most special guy who is admired and loved by everyone.

To quote Carlos’s words: “Our aim has to be the infinite and not the finite. The infinite is our homeland. We have always been expected in Heaven.” His famous quite is: “All people are born as originals but many die as photocopies.” to move towards this destination and not “die as photocopies” Carlos said that our compass has to be the Word of God, that we have to have constantly. But extreme means are required to reach such a lofty destination: the sacraments and prayer. In particular Carlo put the Sacrament of the Eucharist at the center of his live and he called it “my highway to heaven”.
