Holy Cross Parish Youth Group high school members and Confirmation students attended the Diocese of Venice Youth Rally “Arise” at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center in Punta Gorda on Saturday, November 15th. During the event the youth deepened their faith as they joined peers in fellowship.
This year’s theme “Arise” invited some 2,000 teens to leave behind what might be holding them back. Bishop Frank J. Dewane encouraged the youth to respond to the call of God, support the Holy Spirit and delve into who Christ is in your life. Overwhelmingly, the teens expressed their joy of celebrating their faith with their fellow Catholic brothers and sisters.
The day included inspirational talks from nationally renowned speakers Noelle Garcia, Gian Gamboa, Sister Pamela Rose Suresca, FMA, a teacher at St. John Neumann Catholic High School. Energetic music was provided by PJ Anderson Band who inspired the Youth with spiritual songs.
The Youth received the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was celebrated by Most Reverend Bishop Frank J. Dewane preceded by a Eucharistic Procession lead by Father Jacob Gwynn through the attendants; Adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist and Benediction.
The Diocese of Venice Youth Rally was organized by the Director, Andres Prias, Youth and Young Adults Office with the support of nearly 100 volunteers. We thank Carmen Martinez for organizing the Holy Cross Youth attendance.
